Kitchari Fast

I decided to start the year by doing a Kitchari fast in order to cleanse my system. I did overindulge like everyone else during the Christmas new year break and though this was a good reset.  A patient mentioned she does it regularly and I had a look into it.

I am not one for a juice fast because my digestion does not react well to it but it reacts very well to lentils.

How to do a kitchari cleanse?

Determine the number of days you will cleanse for.

Begin to eliminate common foods that cause imbalance a few days before the cleanse (alcohol, caffeine, sugar, meat, processed foods, etc) Make kitchari daily (if possible) and eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Drink warm, herbal teas and water throughout the day.

You can do this once a month
