On Sunday 30th of Sept I ran a course for our assistants and associates of acupuncture
The topic was pediatric acupuncture and how beneficial it was for a variety of issues such as fever, cough, cold, sleeping problems, eczema etc
Later in the morning, the mothers bought in their little ones and we treated 11 infants and children ranging from 10 weeks to 12 years old.
Pediatric treatments on the meridians and acupressure points was developed in Japan 350 years ago.
Herbal medicine was also used in China. The meridians are treated with two tools, yoneyama (sharks fin) and teishin (toothpick)
The yoneyama and teishin is used for tapping, stroking and rubbing the meridians and acupressure points to stimulate them. We also use press seeds on the children’s ear to calm irritability or help them sleep better.
Press spheres can be left on the acupressure points to treat stubborn coughs.
The infants had a great time and they loved the treatments.
A big thank you to all the mothers that bought their children along.
